The project Design and Control of Photovoltaic system aims to propose hardware architectures photovoltaic panels static power converters data acquisition interfaces and hardware/software architectures digital processor for a domestic installation with high efficiency and strong economic impact. Getting high system efficiency whatever the environmental conditions needs the use of Maximum Power Point Tracking MPPT algorithms which consist to find the best way to benefit the inherit panel characteristics. Getting the maximum efficiency and reducing the cost are here very strong constrains. The optimization of the global energy transfer will need a deep study of the system including simulation and experimentation. Especially the choices of the structure and of the number of power converters will be taken into account during the conception phase of the system. The specificities of the middle-east�s solar irradiance and temperature have to be taken into account. Today a large number of electronic devices Digital Signal Processors DSP microcontrollers Field Programmable Logic Devices FPGA are able to support the implementation of MPPT algorithms.
